Realtime granulator effect plugin for VST hosts. Free, licensed under GNU GPLv2.
Description
A grain is a short sample of an input audio stream. Argotlunar can play
up to 20 grains simultaneously, with each grain having unique and adjustably
random settings of delay, amplitude, panning, duration, filter, pitch and glissando.
The implementation is comparable to the AudioMulch® Nebulizer.
Details
* Parabolic grain amplitude envelope.
* 12dB state variable filter (HP/BP/LP/Notch).
* Program change can be modulated by VST parameter.
* Feedback is capable of self-oscillation. |

A protogranular, time de-linearizing plugin. Each delay cloud opens windows onto a buffer, playing fragments of the input sound. The length, on/off ratio and the randomization of these can be controlled, as well as their offset from the current time position. The output of each cloud can be fed back into the other, to recursively cut up the input signal.
Needs the Pluggo Runtime. |

This VST plugin produces granular delay synthesis effects. Inspired by the granular delay of Ableton Live, this plugin includes the ability to synchronize parameter changes with the tempo, which enables many different musical effects to be produced. The interface features an interactive genetic algorithm, permitting the user to explore the space of granular synthesis parameters. The interface is designed to allow the fast and effective auditioning and rating of the population of parameter sets. |

GGrain breaks down the incoming signal into grains and then reassembles it. A grain is just a very short section of the sound, shaped to avoid clicks.
You can specify the number and size of the grains taken from the incoming signal. The level and pitch of each grain can then be altered before the sound is reconstructed, giving a variety of interesting effects. |

Grainfreeze is a basic granular synthesis effect plugin. There are four different grains. When you press freeze, the audio goes into the four grains/buffers. There is an envelope to control the shape of the grain and to smooth the sound.You can set a different length for each grain and also delay the time at which the buffer is stored. You can also create a fade so that the frozen audio gradually appears. An lfo can control the pan for each grain. Midi notes will also trigger the freeze. |

Morfiki's grANALiser is a hybrid of granulator and delay. The plug-in is capable of complex FSU sounds and effects as well as chorus, pitch-shifter or ring modulation. It is build around the same morphing engine as our redu(p)cer plugin.
Features include :
- stereo processing (granulator pitch shift, size and rate, delay time with spread parameters)
- full featured granulator with pitch shift ( ±5 octaves, dropdown list with fixed values available), that can be tuned with grain size or synced to tempo.
- delay unit with feedback
- adjustable sample&hold lfo (randomizer) for pitch and grain rate/size values.
- all parameters are controlled by MORFIKI preset system (the system itself is described below)
- moderate cpu usage
- dropdown menus with fixed values for pitch-shifter scale tuning, spread transposition and tempo synchronization when available.
NSFW CAUTION! grANALiser contains explicit pixel animation, that should be viewed only by adults. People who find such content inappropriate should not use our software. Viewer discretion is advised during usage ;) |

Granulator is based on granular synthesis, the plug is based on the object made by David Haupt.
He explains: “A single-stream quasi-synchronous granulator. It buffers input audio and releases it in discrete grains of a specified duration, at a specified rate. Random variation can be applied to the grain length and grain rate, and they can be modulated by an external source." |

KTGranulator is a free delay line granulator available as a VST effect plugin with custom editor and as a MacOSX Audio Unit. It was made as an exploration in building VST effect plugins and using the VSTGUI library and was inspired by the great DLGranulator effect in Ross Bencina's AudioMulch.
It works like this: incoming (mono) sound is fed into a delay line from which small pieces of various durations and at different moments in the past are selected. Each of these pieces is then amplified, transposed and enveloped to form a "grain". Each grain is also randomly panned and the whole mix is sent out to a stereo output stream. Feedback of the grain output back into the delay line is also provided, and the delay line can also be frozen so that the grains are only taken from what is currently stored in the delay line. |

The Malty VST effect is designed for hosts such as Orion, sadly lacking in granular facilities. Malty is an analogue style delay line granulator with built in filtering and auto-panning. Hmmm. Nice. It can turn skip textures into smooth things; rearrange rhythms; turn sustained textures into stuttering snippets, and is happy to render your original audio quite unrecognisable. Although primarily aimed at VST hosts lacking in granular abilities, it compliments Audio Mulch well, offering an attractive alternative to Mulch's sophisticated granular contraptions. |

reanimator contains a granular pitch shifter, a stutter/repeater with semi random behaviour and a sonograph to see it's inner beauty (requires Pluggo Runtime) |

Granular processing :
- choice of the parameter to be interpolated with the ring : scaling, emmiter speed of the grain, pitch
- each grain is set to an output
- order shift of the grains |

sideslip is a granular pitch shifter effect with an internal variable length step sequencer. it allows you to modify pitch and grain size for each step, as well as edit start, end, and sequencer modes, and granular envelope type for a wide variety of effects. breakdown can be hand set to create gentle rythimc pitch corrections, or completely destroy a loop or sample by granular deconstruction. feel free to use the patch randomizer for some creative inspiration. version 2.0 is not reverse compatible with 1.5 patches, so be careful when updating. |

crazy stuff! all the sort of granular pitch shifting you may expect...but a further twist is added when you feed the Snippet2 with MIDI note input ;) While it is monophonic, you can make your beats play melodies or basslines. verrry groovy. |

A single-stream quasi-synchronous granulator
which also features an analog filter to further
manipulate inupt audio with a smooth lowpass
phatpass (with some big bottom end)and
highpass formant hybrid settings.
Sonix buffers input audio and releases it in discrete
grains of a specified duration, at a specified
rate. Random variation can also be applied to the audio
grain length and grain rate,and the grains amplitude
can be shaped with six different envelopes.Sonix
also has an rms sensing analog meter which
responds to audio input level only |

therapy is an effect plugin that allows you to express your innermost feelings, neurotic ramblings or burning, muderous rage, and have the results presented in full stereo audio psychosis. Instead of the usual knobs or sliders, therapy invites you to type words to generate the psycho-somatic algorhythms that will shape, bend and fuck up your audio according to your own twisted mind. Express yourself through free association, random babbling or drug-induced, histrionic word-vomiting. Type it in, hear the results, scream at the moon.
features
· 3 band granulizer effect with absolutely no ability to deliberately control any parameter
· Word driven controls, even I don't know how it works, but it does
· Stares back at you without suggesting how to solve your problems, just like a real therapist
· What was your relationship with your mother like? |

Another vaguely granular-ish plugin. Grabs short samples (grains) from the input, and loops them, playing them at a chosen pitch-ratio. Grabbing can be triggered by a metronome running at a proportion of the current beat, peaks in the input, or the end of the previous grain. An envelope can be applied to the signal, retriggered when the grab is done. A grain-synched delay allows some smoothing of the grains or feedback effects.
Needs the Pluggo Runtime. |
