 Phibes electric organ tries to capture the sound of those sweet
sixties organs. It is definitely no Hammond B3 or Vox Continental
but rather some obscure and cheap east-european imitation of
them. It has 9 drawbars with five different tones and, independent
vibrato, tremolo and rotator effects and staccato mode. Even though
Phibes organ is quite simple instrument, it is very CPU-intensive
with over ten oscillators and filters, so be patient and bounce
those tracks :) |

 A fairly classic synth concept by HGFortune in a special version for www.midi-musiker.de featuring some peculiarities in detail. Instead of the Colorizer with HP filter of the regular version of Anvilia this one has got two Spook Effects to shape the sound even further with a different layout of modulations. Thus it is possible to mix four different soundlayers: direct out of the oscillators, Spook A, Spook B and filter. Among the 256 inbuilt waveforms are 32 image generated waves (as used within HGF's Alien Space Weaver) with quite complex structure. Anvilai MM is capable of very vivid and complex sounds for textures, ahtmos and Pads plus fairly common synthsounds.

 This is a VSTi synthesizer for fairly spooky, SciFi and others alike sounds. It's got no filter by design and you won't hardly ever hear the basic waveforms. It's working atonal i.e. with no real defined pitch therefore it is not what you might expect - instead this one is esp. for various kinds of noisy sounds.
What should be known:
Atonoise is basically not meant for full polyphonic play, rather than mono- or duophonic though 5 voices are supported simply to have some reserve at longer release settings of the ADSR. Using more than two voices even might lead to slight distortions - in such case lower the levels at the oscillators or Dry/Wet.
There are two oscillators each with a level adjust and both followed by one amp ADSR EG. The different waveforms simply provide different flavours to the modifiers.
There are four modifiers: Inferno and Spook 1 to Spook 3. Inferno adds via Inferno Mix some upper harmonics generated from the input very similar to the timbre feature of my Swamp VSTi. Spook 1 and Spook 2 modifiers can be used as single, in parallel 1|2 or in series 1-2 (see image Signal flow below). The spook amount is determined by the two spook knobs while the XY-Pad ads more or less density i.e. a fairly metallic sound in lower left corner or less density at upper right corner. This can be modulated by selectable and even invertible LFOs. Moving the 'Ghost' image like a joystick ball manually is another option to modulate density. Spook 3 adds even some kind of reverbish flavour when slider is moved to the right.
Anyway please note that using all four modifiers at the same time may soon be the overdose to the mix instead try with more subtle settings by selecting only two or three modifiers.

Despite appearances, these NOVA-class instruments have evolved from the XE stuff. They each feature a new 6-stage Modulation Envelope which can be looped to act like another LFO. As well as the usual LFO, there are also two new modulation sources - the SWEEPER is a specialised LFO for creating long sweeps and the RANDOMATOR allows you to add some random elements to your sounds, for a more natural, human feel [or to make things sound crazy].

 BrokenLooper is a simple pseudo-granular buffer looper. record input or load a file, it takes 1000 ms of this and buffers it.
Then you can play it back - whack the volume up and hit play. You can randomise or oscillate the position (use the Width parameter to widen the window when oscillating).
In the latest version theres a Stereo Magic option which adds a slight delay between the left and right channels to give a slight pulsing/chorus effect.
Theres also a Pitch Sequencer. Get the Playback Speed to the pitch you want, click and drag the Save number to the position you want to save to and release to save. Then horizontally drag the sequence numbers to adjust the pitch for each position. Choose between synching to Beats or Bars (synching should work in all hosts).

 Cygnus was originally a collaboration between synth designer Ian Webster and sound designer Tim Conrardy. Now, spurred on by an off the cuff suggestion by Gearwire's own Dan Agosto, Ian has taken his classic free VST and given it new life by adding 3 new sampling oscillators that accept the sf2 format. The integrated mix controls allow you to crossfade between each of the standard oscillators and the soundfont playback ones discreetly. All of the soundfont players have individual control over level, mix, and pitch. Finally, everything is summed into the Cygnus effects line. |

* Morphable Oscillator 1: Morph between Ramp to Noise, Sine to Saw, Triange to Square, Combo, or Supersaw (Note: Pulsewidth & Sync do not work with Supersaw. Also Supersaw is VERY LOUD in volume and will overwhelm, so turn it down!!)
* Morphable Oscillator 2: Morph between Ramp to Noise, Sine to Saw, Triangle to Square, or Combination. PW modulation on both oscillators really affect the square’s sound.
* Phase knobs both oscillators will smoothe the sound. Turned all the way up - no sound at all.
* Filter: Moog. Bandpass, and combo Moog/Bandpass. Moog Cutoff 35hz to 9000khz, BP Cutoff knob seperate. Q knob the same for both. Keyboard amount : -100% to 100%. Envelope Amount: -100% to 100%, Filter Clip On/Off (interesting clipper can really add some dirt to your sounds).
* Envelope Generator for Filter & Volume.
* LFO: Tempo Synced or free from 0.20 hz to 50 hz. Level from -10 to 10. Usual suspect waves & Sample & Hold.
Modulation Source choose between LFO or Pitch Envelope. Destinations: None, Filter 1 & 2. Pitch, PW, Osc 2 Pitch, Filter Q, Moog Filter only, BP filter only.
* Chorus and tempo synced arp with Velocity & Transpose choice. If the Wet knob on the Chorus is turned too high it will generate strange artifacts in the sound.
